Re: MC on PC 6.0.1 Bugs

changing parameter values by cursor-keys in the pan&zoom effect editor goes in steps of +1.0 (+10.0 with the shift key).
it's almost impossible to adjust the effect exactly with the mouse now.

until 5.5 it was steps of a hundredth (1.01, 1.02, 1.03, and +1.0 with shift)

    Motion Effect Editor:

When Edit Graph is set to Position the Speed graph shows erratic numbers. It is supposed to indicate the current speed, but the numbers are wrong.

Sometimes it is important to know what the current speed is when keyframes in the Position Graph are adjusted. This is not working.

Re: MC on PC 6.0.1 Bugs

When trying to export a 9 minutes MC6.01 timeline as a H.264 .mov

Exception: std::exception, what: Error c0000005 in thread "CQTExportWorkingThreadBody", ACCESS_VIOLATION, at address 000007FEED52BFB9

The project has 50 odd clips which exported successfully using the same saved export preset, they were all 10seconds to 4 minutes duration.

This remaining 9 minute clip will not export. ..failing at about 50minutes of 1hour30minutes

Note: I have performed both a video mixdown and an audio mixdown, with the same result.

I never had this problem with 5.5.3 .. successfully.

There is at least one other report in another thread here.

Re: MC on PC 6.0.1 Bugs

    More info.

If I divide the sequence into three pieces (subclip it), each sub clip renders without error.

Is there a time limit bug?

Play Length Toggle does not cause Play button to turn white, which it should according to Help and how it's worked in previous version of MC.

    From Help:

The Play button and the Play Length Toggle button change to white, indicating the Play Length Toggle feature is active.

Marquee Titler shows wrong aspect ratio in a 16:9 SD Pal project - as if 4:3 would have been stretched twice. Positioning titles is a mere matter of luck.

In frame view when you switch to the composer window to play a selected clip it loses the yellow clip highlight in the bin.  Knowing which was the last clip you viewed is very useful.

Does the same thing in text mode. I mapped "find bin" to my F12 key so I can navigate back to the clip. It's a pain but it's a work-around until the problem is fixed.

MC 6.0.1 allows you to export a QTRef from a sequence containing HDV material.  Found out the hard way by importing said QTRef clip into Sorenson, compressing for half an hour and it resulted in a 10 minute video of a white screen.  I used to get an error message saying that exporting Long GOP media was not allowed.

Long GOP material can be exported as QTref, since the MC5. If you have installed XDcalibrated codec (is paid), reference works correctly.

That is a good explanation, Vilem

I still do QT refs by first doing video mixdowns of my long GOP material - even in MC6.

I was disappointed when I realised that the "Now direct Qt refs from Long GOP clips" was only part of the story.
Nowhere was it clearly stated that you would need to buy an extra codec to be able to view  the QT refs.

    Yes, you're right Douglas.

There is not really highlighted the need to buy the codec. But I must say that my investment in the codec already returned. And both in speed export, thus saving space and order on the HDD.
