saw tooth look on interlaced video

    HI

when i make a dvd and watch on a regular tv i often find i have a jagged saw tooth effect on vertical edges when the camera moves horizontally. I think its because the footage is 1920x1080i.

Am i right in thinking that if i made my avid project a 720p project and kept everything progressive, this saw tooth interlacing problem would disappear or am i over simplyfying?

    Cheers

This could help if the DVD will be progressive as well.

The jagg could be because of the camera itself.

    hi george

im happy to make everything progressive if the problem goes away.

i dont always have it so it isnt the camera faulty.

if i make a avid project as P will intertlaced footage get imported as p so im good to go p all the way

You can screen test a small sample.

    But p DVD's aren't played well on DVD's.

What kind of camera is this?

Because I still think it might be not curable.

Classic frame dominance issue. You have the frames displaying in reverse order.
