Hardware M/C6 Support Nvida Tesla Cards C2075

Chasing information concering Tesla cards reason is just completed upgrading on my sytem I decided upon installing Tesla C2075 card to use with other the programs only to find Media Composer would not run bsasically hanging at the slash screen "initialize AVX2 host". Contacted support they advised that they do not support Nvida Tesla Cards, & only option would be to remove the card. Noticed also on after searching the forums mention was made i think regarding a C870 Tesla Card Running on system at show using M/C 3 or 4 not sure as i have'nt been able to find the post.

Also running Nvida Quadro 5000 video card really appricate any suggestions as i would prefer not to have to remove the card, seems avid support are not really interested in providing any further support on this issue.

Greg, You may be able to successfully run MC on Your card, but You'll have to spot a working driver and tweak the card's settings, it's a trial and error process but Yoy may eventually win. As for Avid support, they only support supported configurations.

Re: Hardware M/C6 Support Nvida Tesla Cards C2075

Having just removed the Card reloaded the drivers for Quadro 5000 unistalled reinstalled the program as per avid supports advise.

Still having the same problem occurring which started just prior to the upgrade hanging on the slash screen at "Initialize AVX2 Host"

Love to be able use the tesla card any suggestions on the drivers according to support they claim that the 2 cards are causing host issues, but lets not forget this proble started on a single certified card

Any solutions would be much appreciated as not sure how to fix this.

    Hi Greg,

Does'nt that sound like something else is going down. I find it strange it won't work.

Is your motherboard Maximus ready. Are you able with the 5000 to utilise this at all.

Do some reading at Nvidia site.

I use a Cubix expander box. So Quadro and the Telsa would be on the same PCI express slot.

Better way to use the technologies.

Extremely overkill for Avid but very good for Da Vinci etc.

I wish Avid would start to use GPU power more. Very little GPU implementation.

    Radman.

    Hi Radman

Thanks I Agree the motherboard is Asus P9x79 Ws not sure as to where I'll go from here, but certainly do some more research Nvida website.

    Regards
