Re: THE END OF PROBLEMS WITH MC 6

Create a sequence with multiple audio tracks in Premiere CS6.  Now take it to your source window.  What do you see?  Where are all the edits?  Can you see the audio waveforms at the same time as the video?  Edit from the sequence in the source window to a new sequence and remap the audio tracks to different tracks.

Premiere has some very nice features which I would like to have on Avid.  But it seems very basic and unsophisticated when it comes to the heart of really editing.

    Good luck,

    Jef

Re: THE END OF PROBLEMS WITH MC 6

Ok Jef 14 days after notification of the problem Adobe has released an update.

After installing 6.0.1 all works. In Avid 5.0.3, 5.5, 6.0, 6.0.1 not working Polish Pro keyboard (28 months) and many more on OSX. On PC in 6.0.1 bad working Alt+Key in title tool and many more - this is proof that Avid does not respect the user.

See on bugfixes in all updates.

In CS6 Production Premium - are Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, Audition and Speedgrade still has a lot more interesting features than the Avid. You only need to change the thinking and understand the philosophy of this package.

Kevin - Caps Lock problem in my keyboard has been solved.

where do you get the crossgrade?

Premiere has nothing over Media Composer.

The editing itself can't be done with the same grace.

I have 3 people working with PPro around me on different projects (1 on Mac and 2 on W7).

I have never experienced a problem or a freeze (apart from the time of Blackmagic).

And I am the only one.

PPro is a joke compared to MC when it comes to pure editing.

    PPro has no Media Management.

Maybe it takes longer to transcode than link with PPro DSLR for example but once transcoded

there are 2 entirely different worlds, where at MC you edit while at PPro you are trying to edit.

I can make a list with pros and cons but when it comes to editing MC wins hands down.

who cares, use what works for you. PPRO was buggy on a MAC, hope they ironed out all the flakiness with this release.

Re: THE END OF PROBLEMS WITH MC 6

this is going to be very common.  I had to go back to mc 5.5.3 due to mc6's instability w/ matrox mini 02.  This was a perfect moment for avid to step it up during fcps downfall... oh wel

I can't see any instability with MC 6.0.1.1 and MXO2 Mini.

In fact I can't crash MC anymore after the exchange of Intensity with MXO2.

    @George Angeludis

You're on the Mac forum but your specs list only windows systems.  I'd love to achieve the same stability that you are on a mac.

    Yes I am on PC.

And I can't see any instability.

Keep only that MC is a world better from PPro while editing.

    Sorry for the confusion.

not working Polish Pro keyboard (28 months) and many more on OSX.

While I'm no premiere CS6 user, so I can't compare, I share your point when it comes to the time Avid needs to fix bugs. There are many of us diehard Avid users that will choose MC over Ppro anytime but having had similar issues with Greek it is very frustrating to have to work around BASIC functionality that works in 99% of all software products but not in MC.

In case of the polish keyboard on Mac... That one specific country needs to wait for 28 months for a solution is tragic. Yes 99,9% of the rest of world present in these forums that writes in another language... It might not affect you but it is not of the professional standard a product like MC is. Period!

    George with all due respect.

If you are working on simple projects, you may not notice errors in the MC6. In the production of commercials and trailers Adobe CS6 Production Premium gives much better results than MC6 and here is this other world.

George This is your lack of knowledge of CS6 - Adobe Prelude CS6 is a perfect media manager. Prelude manage Your footage, metadata, and comments in one place. I used to be a fan of Avid Media Composer Meridian to MC3.5, but after seeing the possibility of CS6 Poduction Premium  made a purchase, and every day I am impressed with this package. Reender Mercury Engine allows you to work 4K in real time with an external drive. In my work I use MC6 Avid, Final Cut Studio 3 and CS6 Adobe Prod Premium.

See the possibilities the whole package and the results of work on it, and change your mind...

P.S. Jeroen know what I mean, a great shortcut A.V.I.D...

I don't know your name but with all the respect,

I don't think you have worked on such difficult projects as I do.

I do not do commercials but full 45-48' shows each week.

One of the few projects I have done is a 4 hours multicam (4x timelines) on MC 5.5 which you can see

on Media Composer's facebook page with more than 5000 cuts/clips on timeline.

And Premiere is really not good at editing because it's a mediocre editor.

I won't say anything about your ignorance or not, you know the quantity of it as I know mine.

Premiere is amateurish and I won't comment on FCP as I have never used it.

WE can go to details any time you want.
