Doing titles in After Effects Vs. Avid

For years now I have been creating titles in After Effects, and exporting them out as TIFF sequences and importing them into Avid. This has given me good clean titles that I have control over during the creation process in AE and to be honest Marquee was just a real pain to use. However the AE process is a lengthy one and not being able to batch import multiple TIFF titles into Avid makes it sometimes painful.  Does anyone else do titles this way, I’m just trying to figure out if there are any benefits to continuing on this path, thanks

If you have installed Avid FX, you can create titles also there.

Personally I use for more complex titles (animations, logos, etc.). Basic easy to use Marque.

Here are the basic instructions from Douglas. (link 135 - 146)

Are both programs on the same computer?
If so have you tried exporting QT Reference files out of AE?

I would think that would be the quickest method and you could batch those.

I prefer to work in 16bpp mode and export to DNxHD, trillions of colors with alpha.

This gives me a fast import and 10 bit color with alpha channel.

That way I have all the power of AE and a no compromise efficient way to get the results into Avid.

Rarely do I make a return trip or go the other way.  Avid is where it all comes together.
