    Help with HD import/export

    Hi everybody,

I only moved to HD late last year, and I'm making some kind of rookie mistake: I have imported footage which is at 1920 X 1080 (with the option 1:1 MXF) but now Avid only offers me to export it as 1024 X 576...

What am I overlooking? Thanks in advance!

    Re: Help with HD import/export

It seems that the project is in SD resolution. Check and set the resolution to HD project.

Thanks for that Vilem. In case it might help anybody in the future, it also had something to do with the Import settings option "Image size adjustment".

Do you really want to work at 1:1? For HD content that is massive (DNX185 is normally more than enough)

Also Importing stuff is largely better if you use AMA and then Transcode (teh conform time can be much less)

Your export choices in terms of image size are determined by the project format. SO if you import into an SD project you amke SD media and will only have SD export options.

If you import into an SD project (and make SD media) and change to an HD project and then export you will have upscaled Sd media.

Thanks for that information... I'll definitely try DNX185 now.
