Avid Media Composer 6.05 quit unexpectedly

We have 6 workstation Mac Pro(2010) with Lion, and with Avid Media Composer 6.05.  Each with 2Tb to ingest local files. 16Gb RAM and Video card Radeon 5770 Our projects are with XDCAM HD 50mb/s. We received files to editing in Media Composer from XDCAM U1, PFD-23A (XDCAM 50Mb/s). We have one Storage - Iomega StorCenter px12-350r, where we import files from Videographers (generally After Effect CS6) by ethernet 1Gb/s. The videographers render all files to Avid with the preset XDCAM HD 50Mb/s. The Workstation of the videographer is the same of the edition, except the OS (Maverick), because Avid doesn't support this OS yet. Our products have about 6 min duration. Some workstations quit unexpectedly, and now, with more frequency. Periodically I recreate database of all workstations to avoid problems like this. I erased DNS from of the network settings to fix some serious bugs with Media Composer freezes. What more we need to do, to resolve the questions?

Are you doing anything in common when the software quits?

Not sure I understand your worklow...you import from After Effects?  Can you explain in a bit more detail, especially when the problem hits?

    Yes, of course.

import from After Effect is important, because is the more common way that we import the motion graphics.  Relevant in this case to comment, I think.

But we import the biggest files from XDCAM.

But today it happened again, the Media Composer closed unexpectedly and when the editor call me, I did a search for Attics folder and we find the last file (edit 63) was created 1 hour ago. After this file, had no other.  We lost 1 hour of the edition.

In the cases, the editor just edit normally when it happens.

    Thanks.

Have a look for a folder named Avid FatalErrorReports.

In there are txt files of the error that may have caused it.

Where are your projects being stored?  Are they also on the shared storage?

All our Mac ingest in local disk.

From shared storage, we just import motion graphics.

But the Avid projects are also local?  You're not sharing projects across systems?

    Thanks for help us.

No, we work with all local files.  Just import some files from Storage to local hard disk.

I'm trying to find some common thread among your systems, and I'm not seeing any.  If you are all using separate users and separate projects and separate media, I'm not sure what is in common here.

Were all these installs done individually or did you image a system and install elsewhere?

    Hi Kevin,

    Our installs were done individually.

I did update to version 6.05, thinking that would avoid problems.

    Thanks.
