    AMA and the codecs that it talks to _need to know

    Hi all

    Can anyone give me a listing of the supported codecs that will talk to AMA ? - (using Media composer 7 )

    Here is the primary list.

    With Quicktime codecs, the general rule is if QT can play it on your system, Avid can link to it.

    If the codec is also one of the native Avid codecs (DVCPro HD, XDCAM, ProRes, AVC-I, etc) Avid *might* be able to consolidate it directly and transcoding is not necessary. Consolidate is faster and prevents additional processing since it is basically a media stream copy process.
