    Fatal Error whilst Playing back/Transcoding XDCAM

    So we have upgraded our machines from 6.5 to 7.0.4. Our workflow involves importing XDCAM 50mbits then transcoding to 10.1. Avid 6.5 did this just fine, no issues. 7.0.4 though on seemingly random clips the end frame shows black and 'FATAL ERROR'. It also refuses to transcode these clips. The only work around is to subclip the clip without the end frame then transcode.

    We have one Avid 6 PC left and it transcodes/plays these same files fine. So it is something that has happaned when upgrading to 7. The AMA plug ins are all up to date etc.

    This is the error 'Exception caught in APlayer::Play - Exception: FATAL_ERROR, msg:Assertion failed: SampleNumDisplayOrder >= 0, file:..\..\src\msm\MPEG2GOPInfo.cpp, line:15

    Monitor Exception:'

    different AMA plug for V7 - you need to remove the V6 AMA plug in and install V7. i know you said they are all up to date but it has to be the AMA plug in for V7 (not the one for V6 or V8)

    Also with XDCAM never link to the individual files - always link to the master BPAV folder structure and make sure you keep that intact. Linking to individual files could result in A:) the wrong AMA plugin being used // and will result in B:) you will lose concatenated files as a single master clip functionality.

    Can we go back to the way audio nodes used to be selected? Please? ie if you have audio nodes at the same time on selected tracks; then selecting 1 audio node selects them all at that time. Having to shift select nodes or add an in and out is time consuming and counter productive. At least make it an option.

    I have solved the issue, it appears XDCAM clips imported on an Avid6 through up the 'FATAL ERROR' message when trying to transcode them on a V7. XDCAM clips imported on V7 transcode fine on V6, just not the other way around.
