    Student Pkg

My Macbook Pro is on its last leg, and I want to uninstall Media Composer Academic before it dies, so I can install it on a new device later on.

    Not sure where to start.

    Thanks!

You can install Media Composer on as many devices as you wish, you can only have it activated on one at a time.  Deactivate MC on the old machine and activate it on a new one.  If you have a dongle it's a simple as unplugging it from one machine and plugging it into the other.  If you have electronic activation just deactivate on one machine then go online with the new machine to activate there.

You can always download the latest version from Avid.com

As long as your license is valid you should be fine.  Activation issues also get free support if you really get stuck.

    Re: Student Pkg

I followed the instructions for uninstalling everything via AvidMediaComposerUninstaller (mac). It went down the list, unchecking as it progressed, ending with a "Nothing to uninstall' message in the pop up.

Is that it? I thought there'd be a code number for the next installation?

    Thanks for your help!

As smrpix said - you didn't need to uninstall, only deactivate.

Deactivation is done in the Application Manager, which might still be installed even though you uninstalled MC?

Deactivate there.  Use the Activation ID from your Avid account, and activate on the new one.
