checkSequenceIsReadyForXfer returns error when sequence include audio only master clips.

    Hi,

    In case:

Sequence has audio rendered effects. Audio rendered effects do not have video. When CheckSequenceIsReadyForXfer issued by Web API to such kind of sequence, API returns error even if all of other master clips have correct video format.

Are there any way to avoid this error?

For example, sequence contains two media files.

    Master clip 1: It has 3 trackes, V1 A1 A2. V1=DNxHD145, A1=PCM, A2=PCM

Master clip 2: It has 2 trackes, A1 A2. A1=PCM, A2=PCM (Audio dissolve rendered effect)

    CheckSequenceIsReadyForXferType [..... targetResolution=DNxHD 1080 115-120-145] returns Error size: 1, CheckSequenceIsReadyForXferEx noAudioRealTimeEffectCheck=false

Are there any way not to check audio only master clips by CheckSequenceIsReadyForXfer call?

Version: Interplay Engine 3.0.8, Interplay Web Service 3.0.9.

    tiidavid,

I spoke to our team here and got this response:

    > Are there any way not to check audio only master clips by CheckSequenceIsReadyForXfer call?

"Short answer: No there is no way of omitting anything from the sequence check as far as I know. However, there is an additional, undocumented function ‘CheckSequenceIsReadyForMixdown’ in the WSDL which is less restrictive, maybe that could be an option."

Hi, Rob, Thank you for replay.

Is following correct to use CheckSequenceIsReadyForMixdown? I am asking because it is not documented. Following example is for XDCAM HD 50mbps video availbility.

    Hi tiidavid,

CheckSequenceIsReadyForMixdown works exactly like CheckSequenceIsReadyForXfer from the outside, just internally the checks are modified to match the capabilities of Interplay Transcode (instead of Transfer).  The call you have been using with CheckSequenceIsReadyForXfer should work with CheckSequenceIsReadyForMixdown without any modifications.

    Hope this helps

    Andy
