    AMC and 4k requirements

    Hey all-

I posted this question before Avid released the current Media Composer version which can work with 4k.  I am considering buying a 4k camcorder and need to know how much RAM is required to edit in AMC.  have a mid 2010 Mac Pro tower with 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor.  I currently have 10gb of ram with a ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB graphics card.  Any thoughts before I upgrage my ram?  Will my quad core be fast enough?  There has been no clear discussion on AMC and the 4k editing topic.  Advice?

    Thanks

    Brian

Minimum of 16GB. 32GB would be my recommendation, even higher in some situations.

Your quad core is unlikely to be able to play video in full quality other than DNxHR LB and proxy mode.
