     you can find the offset of the "NIBA" (or possibly "ABIN") string, add 14 (4 for the name, 4 for the length, 6

    Using python I search for b'\x03NIBA' and then add 15, so that the cursor lands on the 16th byte after the escape char - where the ID starts.

    Make a variable of the next 8 bytes, then generate an os.random(8) bytes and replace the var with the new random ID and save.

    Replace ID's at your own risk, although I have never had any problems doing it (using Interplay, Project Parking backup etc.)

    Ability to extract clip and sequence information programmatically and real scripting/automation support would be my two biggest requests for Media Composer… if anyone is listening. Big Smile

    I'd really like to see Avid start to embrace this thinking. Scripting / automation support would make the world of difference.
