    Only when I has removed from AVX folder Magic Bullet plugin, MC 8.6.2 started without crush.

    So must wait for update from Red Giant.

    Did a complete uninstall before installing 8.6.2 without any luck! Please Avid, fix this installer! Its ridiculous after all!

    I can't speak for what might happen on a Mac but with my PC the key was to uninstall current version, re-start, then install 8.6.2 manually.  I had a conversation with a very helpful Avid tech support guy today who said the problem seems to lie in the current version of App Manager not in MC 8.6.2. He advised the temporary work around is to not use App Manager to install. Instead go to the download area inside your Avid account, grab 8.6.2 from there then install manually.

    I downloaded 8.6.2 directly from the Download Center, before it was available through the Application Manager. No problems at all.

    I linked my crashing on startup issue to a different cause: the Matrox MXO2 with Max driver. As soon as I unistalled the driver and rebooted, MC stopped crashing. I even tried re-installing the driver again and Avid resumed crashing.

    It appears that Matrox is no longer compatible with either MC v8.6.2 or OS X 10.11.6, or both.

    I´ve stayed on 10.10.5 and the Matrox works excellent , I need my Matrox more than all those Apple upgrades

    crash on yosemite_10.10.5 with tiffen and dft plugins,

    works on el capitan_10.11.6 with no plugins.

    always manually uninstall and download from avid_server, no appman installs.

    on yosemite i went back to mc_8.6.1.

    I use Tiffen DFX also, but I need them. I rolled back to MC 8.6.1

    Ja i just noticed that Avid took it off the Page. I updated to MC8.6.2 a couple of days ago. I wanted to download the readme now but all is gone.

    The thing is: i did'nt have any of the Problems you guys describe. The only difference was that i deinstalled MC8.6 before i installed the new version.

    If you were able to install without any trouble, then you're fine. The problem was only with the installer.
