Media Composer 8.6.5 + 8.7 XDCAM Export Problem

We have got Problems when exporting Clips on XDCAM. Somitimes it works, somtimes not.

AVID knows the XDCAM drive, but won´t export. AVID says, it doesn´t see the XDCAM Drive"Please connct XDCAM device or insert disk".

Linking and consolidate via ama and XDCAM drive works fine.

We have actual AMA Plug Ins, also tested this with old versions

    Any Ideas?

    Best,

    Sergej

I have the same problem since i installed 8.6.5. Even after installing the new Nablet plugin on 8.7. It is also not possible to export to a virtual drive.
Maybe some old stuff from earlier avid versions cause this problem?

I've solved the problem. In my case, it was a corrupt user file that caused the problems. Delete it and enjoy Christmas. Looking forward to your answer.

Thanks for the answer, in my case it did not, even after a complete new installation of the Windows and Avid.

Re: Media Composer 8.6.5 + 8.7 XDCAM Export Problem

I can confirm the bug but in our cases we have found that it is MC not correctly releasing the XDCAM drive after a link to load media.

In case we restart MC (not whole PC) and then directly execute the export to the XDCAM it works fine.

I'm not sure if it's an MC bug or the XDCAM driver and link plugins but from the behavior we see, my thoughts go to MC and not the (AMA) plugin. But this is just a hunch.

Have you tried turning off and unplugging the XDCAM deck Then Plugging in and restarting the deck?   MAY help to confirm your hunch. Geeked

When XDCAM import everything works fine. But after the first export after a change of disk, the disk no longer finds the need to open multiple times AMA link.

We tried several combinations. The only consistent action with the result that write back was possible was a restart of MC.

The solution came with the new version 8.8 Avid. Thanks for the advice.
