    Nitris DX driver problem

    This is weird.

Just totally reinstalled my computer, clean Win10pro an Avid version 8.10 with Nitris DX driver 5.9.0

When I startup Avid for the first time, it says

"This build of the app requires a different Avid DX driver than you have installed"

then thereis a Button with a "update" option.

Great... of course I click on the "Update" button.

and then it says "The system cannot find the file specified."

Now I can click on a "Proceed" button

    And Yes I do that.

Then this pops up "The AvidDX version you have loaded is 5.9.0.0, This version of the application works with driver versions in the range of 5.9.2.0->5.9.x.x"

And now I can only "QUIT"

Then i was checking for a new driver at Avid's driver download site, But the latest driver is 5.9.0 ????????

It is NOT making any sense for me.

    Am I mising somthing or

is Avid refusing to use Nitris DX before it has installed a driver that doesn't exist yet.

(Maybe I was at the wrong Driver download site, if there is other)

Please help if you see a solotion for this problem :-)

    Re: Nitris DX driver problem

    Hi Frank,

What version is your Avid Application Manager showing? I'm on a Mac and have DX Driver 8.9.4 installed. On the Windows system that I have with Media Composer | First, I see that version 8.9.1 is available.

    Hope this helps!

    Greetings,

    Ivan

    Re: Nitris DX driver problem

    Frank,

In the Application Manager go to "Plug-ins". Then select "Codecs & Drivers" from the dropdown menu. There you will find the latest DX driver.

    Hope this helps!

Ok, that makes a kind of sense.

I only see the "Codecs PE"

I have not bought My Nitris, I have it on lone from my work to test it.

Maybe you have to be registret as a Nitris DX owner, in you AVID Master Account, to see that driver.

Now I have to find out how to get registretet with a Nitris DX Smile

    Re: Nitris DX driver problem

Your Avid Nitris DX does not have to be registrated for this. Just login with your e-mail adress and password from your Media Composer software. Normally you then will be able to download the driver.

    Re: Nitris DX driver problem

Normally this will work, because I just downloaded the driver. On my Windows system I have no Nitris DX and have only Media Composer | First installed.

    Re: Nitris DX driver problem

Hi there! i had a same issue, the support provided the answer:

" In Media Composer 2018.5, there is an updated driver for the Nitris DX. However, this is not automatically installed when you install the editing application. The installer is located on:

    (Windows) Program Files\Avid\Utilities\DXDrivers

There is a Win7 driver and a Win10 driver. Kindly select the one appropriate for your OS."

    It worked well for me.

    Cheers!

    Re: Nitris DX driver problem

I see to be running into the same issue here, but with a Mojo DX box. I’ve upgraded to 2018.5 on my Windows 7 System SP1. Went thru the motions of installing the 64b_Win7 DX drivers in the utilities folder and I still have no connection with my mojo dx. The box was working before I did the upgrade. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the dx drivers with a reboot after motion.

    thanks in advance.

    Re: Nitris DX driver problem

    Hi, Renn

Since a couple of versions ago you have to manually check if you want the Nitris DX or Mojo DX to be installed or not.

During the Media Composer software installation you need to check a box on one of the first screens. If you oversee that, the Nitris or Mojo is not working.
