Re: Media Composer 2018.5 NOW AVAILABLE 10 May 2018

    2018.5 note.

When I want to transcode it says I dont have enough room.

So i am forced to use background transcoding (and of course it finishes because there is room)

There should be a space bypass option for non background transcoding.

    thx

I also see the wrong colors with 18.5, and the "workaround" for me does not fix the problem at all during playback.  So, it looks like I'll need to roll back a version - something I've not had to do for a very long time.

The bigger question for me is whether or not there is a real solution being sought for this bug.  Since the checkbox does not help me, I am just curious whether or not there is an actual solution in the works.

In my years of experience, I have found colors to be fairly important.

Re: Media Composer 2018.5 NOW AVAILABLE 10 May 2018

    Guys/Marianna

Does anyone know if any issue with source browser constantly scanning linked media was identified and resolved?  It seems like an issue of source browser running in a loop and caning my system and slowing it down could be peculiar to me as support havent been able to nail it for me over many months.  I'm therefore STILL running the pre source browser media AMA linking version of 8.5.3 :(

Is anyone else saving projects to Dropbox as they edit?  I like the idea that my projects are in the cloud as if the PC explodes I still have my projects.  Would be good to know if this works for others on current version software.

Hope this isnt too off-track here - but would love to get up to date.

    Thanks

Re: Media Composer 2018.5 NOW AVAILABLE 10 May 2018

I save some projects on Dropbox to edit on my laptop when Im not in the studio. Reference the dropbox folder in MC as my project source. This way I never have to worry about remembering to copy over the latest version. Havent had any problems yet that werent of my own doing.

Thanks ramz - good to know - I'll create a separate post maybe on this subject.
