QT files import with black video

I have some QuickTime files obtained from our corporate HQ which are absolutely refusing to import.  The audio is fine but the video is black.  There are no errors thrown (not even in the Console) when this material is imported.

I can't link it from Source Browser, I get "Cannot be linked" if I try.

    MediaInfo says they're 1920x1080x59.94 AVC High 4:2:2@L4.2, 10-bit.

The files play fine in VLC which says they're H.264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1), Planar 4:2:2 YUV 10-bit LE.

Corporate insists the Panasonic P2 plugin is the correct one to import this media and says it's working at other locations.  I do have this plugin installed; if I "AMA_ListPlugins" in the Console, I get "PanasonicP2 MVP_MSP Plug-In 4.9.0.1".  (among others)  (best I can tell this is the newest version available for Windows & it's the version Corporate insists is correct for this media)

I can get them transcoded by stuffing them in a Telestream Vantage but that's going to be a challenge for the editor's workflow.

I'm an engineer, not an editor, so I'm probably doing something stupid here, but haven't been able to figure out what...

    Ideas?  Thanks!

(now, here's hoping I stuffed our system info in the right place to show up in this post:) )

I would try the latest media composer (they're always upgradeing ama), and ama plugins if that doesnt work.

If not transcode with ffmpeg/another gui, or resolve.

Best I can tell the 4.9.0.1 I already have installed is the newest plugin available for P2 media.  I suspect our editor is going to need to learn to live with the Vantage:)

That Qt detail looks like it’s the Panasonic GH5 10 bit file, and I understand it’s quite a particular format. I suggest you search the forum for info as I’ve seen many posts on decoding it.

i think if you shoot in 8 bit it is more straightforward.
