Still not fixed -- cannot PUBLISH

    Hi Marianna,

    HELP PLEASE

We all get the same eror messages. Failing since July.

I write for TheBroadcastBridge and reference MCF a lot.

If this isn't fixed in 2018.12 I really have no choice but to switch to Resolve with a very public note as to why I'm changing my reference NLE. With these error messages it really can't be that hard to find and fix.

    Steve,

What is the system spec's of the machines in question? And what version of Windows are you running (if it's 1809 there may be issues). You may also try re-installing the QT runtimes, just to see if that helps (eventually all of QT will be gone from MC).

DIY quad core I7-4790K, 32Gb, NVidia GTX 970 4GB, Win 10 Pro, MC(generally the latest or the one just before), MC 7.x [view my complete system specs]

    Version 1803.

If 1809 is the "next" version being rolled-out I have put a delay on it so my PC will not be auto updated. But, when will 1809 be suported?

PC, Windows Home, i7, 16GB RAM, GTX1080 -- same system I've had since MCF first was roled-out.

    I'll re-install OT.

I'm writing a 3-part series for TBB on using Resolve for color grading with MCF as the NLE. Used MC since 1994 and do not want to edit with Resolve!

    Thank you.

PS: You do not have to give up on using MCF.

    1) Mixdown video.

    2) Mixdown audio.

    3) The two or three files will be in your AvidMedia folder.

    4) Drop them into another NLE. I use Resolve.

    5) Export your movie as DNxHD or ProRes.

    6) If needed, upload DNxHD or ProRes to YouTube or Vimeo. Let them do the single compression to h.264.

Well, your system should certainly support MCF. It really sounds like a QT interaction issue. If it continues after re-installing QT, try uninstalling and re-installing MCF. After that, I'm out of ideas.

Re: Still not fixed -- cannot PUBLISH

I have installed -- which was an upgrade -- 7.79.0.95.

Same immediate crash with the same error messages! Super Angry

System has SSD (C:) internal HD and many USB drives.

I assume MCF tries to write to C: or D:, but since there's no way of knowing -- who knows?

WE DO KNOW THE BUG STARTED WITH THE RELEASE IN JULY.

    Thank you.

    Marianna HELP!
