Help! Audio Level is Maxed at +12 Still Not Loud Enough

my sequence has five Audio tracks A1-A5 but A2 was not well recorded and thus not loud enough.  Sound quality is great but the level of A2 is not high enough.  I have the master maxed at +12 and A2 maxed at +12.

I'd love to get your idea on how to solve this.  The balance is perfect between all five audio tracks so what i really need is some way to increase all five tracks a little...like if the master could go to +17 then everything would be just right i think.

    kind thanks,

For this I add a Trim FX from the Audiosuite plugs.

Other options are the Gain effect in Audiosuite or you can add an audio keyframe to the track and raise that an additional 1-12db.

You can use the Audio Compressor effect in the Audio Suite but you'll need to do it to each track.

The Audio Compressor can compress the dynamic range and is useful for raising the apparently loudness of the audio signal by raising lower parts of the signal while lowering the high parts acording to a ratio you set and a threshold level. There is gain knob here which will raise the signal.

Experiment with it. It's much cleaner than just cranking the volume knob all the way up, which is generally just raising everything uniformally.

Happens all the time. Sound recordists are sometimes a bit too careful. The simplest solution (ie without using audiosuite plugins, that can be dangerous) is to double the tracks.

Reduce your Master output back to 0db (that way you wont have to greatly reduce the volume of your music and sfx tracks), then double each of the problematic tracks (eg copy and paste). Make sure they're not too loud now.

    That's it.

Normalize in Audio Suite is another option, although I don't like it as much as the Normalize effect in a dedicated audio program like SoundForge.   Another solution is to raise the volume on the low track to +12 and then do an audio mixdown of just that track and cut it into your sequence replacing the original low track.   Now you are starting at 0 on the mixdown and can raise it up to 12 again.
