24P Project with Firewire to Deck. Can't see client monitor

    Hello,

Can you please tell me how to see the client monitor in my 24P project? I am trying to go out of the avid using firewire, then to a DVCAM deck, then to a monitor. I can see the DVCAM deck on the monitor, but not the avid. The DVCAM deck is set for the correct input from the firewire. All my Video Output tools are greyed out. My system is software only.  Any help?

    Thanks soooo much!

    Kirk

    Here's my system:

Mac 8-Core - Firewire but no Mojo

Sony DVCAM / HDV / MiniDV deck HVR-M15U

Sorry, Monitoring 24p without an Avid DNA is not supported.

I think it could work, because you can also capture 24p over Firewire: "New film and pulldown support for Mac OS X systems -- enables editors to capture 24p footage to disk transparently over FireWire, via normal and advanced pulldown"

Did you check the Video Display Setting / Output to DV Device ?

all different setups in various editing suites. my own: MC 2018.2, OSX 10.12.6, iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017), 4,2 GHz Intel Core i7, 40GB RAM, Radeon... [view my complete system specs]

It won't work. Even more annoying Avid doesn't consider this a bug. Firewire out of any sort is crippled with Avid products without a DNA device. Of course 23.97 out works perfectly with Final Cut Pro...

Most are New MacPro 12 core or 8 Core 2012 MacPros with 24+ Gb Ram nvidia gtx 1070 [view my complete system specs]

    Then use that...it's only gear.
