Importing Zi6 Files into Xpress Pro

    Hi, all,

I'm recording video on the Kodak Zi6 camcorder (720p; .mov files) and trying to import it into Avid Xpress Pro. While the video seems to import fine, there's either no audio or a loud squeal. Has anyone encountered this and is there any fix?

    Thanks,

    Dan

If you open the .mov file in Quicktime player and look at the movie inspector (CTRL +I), what format is the audio (under "format", after the video format) regards Brian

Re: Importing Zi6 Files into Xpress Pro

That should be fine, I've just tried a QT with AAC audio and it imported fine here.  Can you try rolling your QT back to 7.0 which is the recommended version for 5.2.x?

    Hi, Brian,

Can you provide me with steps for backing out? Earliest version of QT I have is 7.2. Also, I'm running QuickTime Pro, so do I have to be concerned about losing my registration?

    Thanks,

    Dan

earlier versions of QT can be found on the apple/support site Pro should not be a problem I think, but do check on the apple site. I think I remember an upgrade of pro in the 7 series of versions.

Re: Importing Zi6 Files into Xpress Pro

Your QT Pro details should be fine for all 7.x versions.  Make a note of your regitered name and registration code if you don't already have it to hand, just in case.  Can be found in "Edit" "Preferences" "Register"

    regards

    Brian,

Thank you. I'm working on a project now, so won't be able to try this for a few days. Will update once I've performed the fixes.
