Re: MC v3.5.x Adrenaline slow scrub response

    Hey guys,

I had this same issue when I upgraded to 3.5.1 on my Mac with MOJI SDI.  I also got green flickers when playing out to my monitor or exporting to a movie file.  These problems are accross the board regardly of my project's format.  I am now back to 3.1 and all is well.  Hope AVID gets on this quick!  ;)

Me too. And it just occurred to me that I'm SO glad I'm still using a hardware dongle, so I could roll back. What about the folks who've opted for the sofware license? I think they're hosed until this gets fixed, right? Ouch.

Re: MC v3.5.x Adrenaline slow scrub response

We had the same problem. I don't know what fixed it.

I power cycled the Adrenaline, deleted project settings, mc state etc.

Then, went to Format and toggled back and forth from NTSC to 1080p. 23.98.

Then, went to video output tool and toggled downconvert options.

Closed and opened NTSC project and toggled image settings.

I'm not sure what "woke up" my system.

SO, I now have a responsive timeline. But...

    In DNX115 I can't output to my monitor unless i'm in Blue/Best mode. And , I don't have real-time effects.

If I'm in green/draft modes. I get RT, but my audio is out of sync and no monitor output.

If I disable the DNA, i'm fine.

I can't wait to get on a PCIe Card!

    DNA is such a lemon.

Re: MC v3.5.x Adrenaline slow scrub response

I can confirm this problem with the Mojo SDI system and NTSC 30i and 23.976p projects. Either turning off the Mojo or backing down to 3.1 solves the issue.

I ultimately removed 3.5 and backed down to 3.1 just so I could use the Mojo and get my work done.

Re: MC v3.5.x Adrenaline slow scrub response

I'm not normally one to blast Avid, or any other vendor, for bugs in software. Things happen, and it's often hard to nail these things down. However, this isn't one that's too hard to spot. As soon as I installed it, my Adrenaline didn't work right. Didn't the beta testers try playing their timeline? That's all it would have taken.

I'm sort of astonished, that's all.

Yeah I have to agree.  This was an such obvious problem and one that hampers productivity so much that I can't see how they would allow this to get released.  Not cool!   ;)

This thread seems to be blooming into multiple issues.  I've re-escalated it with the additional information posted here and they are looking into it as we speak.

Re: MC v3.5.x Adrenaline slow scrub response

    Hi all,

The slow scrubbing has been logged with engineering and they will look at it soon.  I will report back once I know more.

Remember....  the forums are here for you to help each other and if an Avid peep like myself or Rob, Adam, Kate etc. can pop in we will and help.  However, this isnt a support forum as we are not online 24/7.  If you determine something appears to be an issue or bug, you need to ask your moderator to escalate it (which Todd did) or call support directly yourself. With that said, if there are other issues looming here, then I suggest you call support as with NAB approaching, we are going to be a light crew.

As soon as I hear back from QA/Engineering, I'll let you know.

"This was an such obvious problem"

Folks, this issue was be easy to miss, depending upon your particular configuration.  As a beta tester for this release, I completely missed it. I've (fortunately for me) experienced none of the timeline or playback issues reported here.

It's been my experience with problems that I could re-create that reporting on these boards or contacting Avid would get some traction on those probems and I'd enjoy a suitable resolution.  (tech video pun intended)

Re: MC v3.5.x Adrenaline slow scrub response

I just went ahead and installed the trial 3.5 version and I am getting this very same issue.

I have no hardware. I have 1080 30p EX footage mounted. Avid sees it and gives it to me in the bin. When I go to scrub through the footage- picture skip, stutters, etc. I can not scroll through the same way I was able to in 3.1. (FWIW- I am also getting a blue line in the timeline. I always forget what these color warning lines mean.)

(I also have EX30p footage in the same project that scrubs just fine. But it is on a internal drive)

UPDATE - I did a transcode on the clips and it now scrubs fine. But I was under the impression you could now edit direct from the card without having do this. I guess not.

Is there an update on this bug? Before NAB it was reported that engineering was looking into it.
