Well, if I am understanding you correctly, and the card is not being seen by the system profiler, there is either a problem with the card or the slot on the MB itself.

Best thing to do now is to give support a call so that they can figure out the problem and send you replacement hardware if needed.

In the Manual, support for Macintosh, for Mac Pro 2.26 Ghz, Quad core it has mentioned support for software only, is this the actual problem, or any issues with the drivers. please advice.

Not on a Mac. The drivers are installed with the application. What version of the MC are you running?

Ok, what I would try first is, with the card in slot 4, uninstall the Avid software, repair permissions on the CPU, then reninstall the software again. Launch the MC and see if the firmware on the DX updates.

That is correct. The Avid software is only supported in 32 bit mode.

Re: anyone using DX hardware with single quad or dual 2.26GHZ Nehalem?

I have the "same" problem on my 2.26 Nehalem 8core. The mac don't see the card. What was the solution for you? Our card is well in slot 4, and OSX don't see it. I have read there is problems with "passive card" and new ones are ok. Do we have to change our PCIe card or is this a "mac" problem ?
