    What's wrong with my multigroups?!?!

I have a series of Canon H.264s that I imported in as DNx media and am trying to multigroup.  I've done everything as prescribed, including stringing out the media, assigning Aux TC, making edits at the points where the clips begin, and subclipping out everything.  Only problem is, once I go to Multigroup everything by the Aux TC, I get a crazy error that I've never seen before.  It says "Tracks have incompatible edit rates." What is causing this?  I see that if I try to multigroup the clips that line up evenly, I get a multigroup like i wanted.  but if I include the beginning and ending clips, that don't have equal durations, I get this crazy error.  What does it mean?  I don't understand.
