    Re: MC5 is a Ferrari

    Hello Camoscato!

I correct: I meant " Liquid is more fast ths MC in many operations"

In MC I have to render everything iof my prefered effect! I have to attend that render finish to continue with edit.

I hope not to be seen as a detractor of MC.

    You say "

Give me something to cut on a Media Composer and you edit the same thing on Liquid and I will beat you like a drum.  :)

Camoscato, do you know Liquid?  IF so, I am very happy.  It just means I have more patience to learn it well

    Hi,

    RADIUS:
I hope not to be seen as a detractor of MC.

No worries, my friend; this is just fun banter among colleagues.  :)

    RADIUS:
In MC I have to render everything iof my prefered effect! I have to attend that render finish to continue with edit.

I understand what you mean.  The only qualification I'll make to the challenge is we can have each product play to its strengths.  In other words, each editor gets the same footage with the same final requirement, but each gets to pick what format the footage is on.

It won't matter because I'll still be faster on Media Composer, but at least then I won't have to listen to some static about how Liquid lost but it's still better because it's a better DVD importing program.   Smile

    ciao,
    Carl

So many caveats!  You should've been a lawyer.

Any configuration that the machine allows is valid.

    ciao,
    Carl

p.s. And if you want to keep nickle and diming me on things that MC is not good at, I'll make a requirement that the edit has to be done on a network that allows multiple machines to share the same media at the same time, be able to playback media while it is being ingested, be able to play back sequences while they are being transferred to the server, and it all has to be qualified by the manufacturer to run on Windows 7.  Stick out tongue

And add into that list multiple editors on multiple platforms working in the same project at the same time. You'll be hard pressed to find other video systems and applications that allow all of that.

Anyone who says that good ole Drag & Drop is quicker and more accurate then Keyboard editing, has never spend time learning Keyboard editing!

I think that maybe Carl and Larry (who I seem to remember has also issued a similar challenge in the past) should have a shootout with a few Liquid users at the next Wrestlemania! MC vs Liquid Big Smile

    Re: MC5 is a Ferrari

That would be a good challenge.. Create a 30 second edited video with a list of what needs to be done to it like freeze frame, PIP, titles, pan and zoom, etc etc.. Doug will provide the footage and the list and then have the contendors use camstasia to record their progress and time it from there..

I have a better idea...each team has to cut a 3 and a half minute news package and has no more than 45 minutes to turn in a finished product...from scratch. With whatever effects are appropriate to tell the story. The winner is the team that does the best job in the least amount of time.
