    Hi Patrick,

Larry's suggestion (above) worked for me.

I also started working on a new sequence and the mute buttons work again.  Still have descrepencies with the audio tool and mixer though.

Maybe I have something setup wrong - there have obviously been some changes to audio since MC5 which is the last version I used to any great extent.

Re: Audio keyframe (changing volume of a group of keyframe)

OK. Really not liking this new method to adjust audio at all. More fiddling with the mouse is more pain for my hand!

But I am also having trouble lassoing.... How can I avoid going into segment mode? If there is a cut above the keyframes, it will always favour that cut over the keyframe and go into segment mode.

Is there something I am missing?

    James:

You can do one of two things: either click on the background area just above the timeline itself inside the timeline window (when the cursor is an arrow instead of a segment slug) and start drawing the lasso from there, or disable the smart tool with the ST toggle button from the command palette.

Re: Audio keyframe (changing volume of a group of keyframe)

Thanks Larry. I have tried both methods and sadly nether work. If inside the lasso that I'm drawing there is a cut as well as the keyframes then it will not select just the keyframes but default to segment mode.

Is there anyway of ensuring that when you lasso it doesn't automatically default to segment mode?

    Your help is apprecaited!!!

I'm not at home to check this, but I work with the smart tool completely disabled, and as long as you draw the lasso from left to right, starting above the timeline in the background pane and drag down and across, an audio region is established. With the smart tool turned completely off, the system does not go into segment edit mode.

Re: Audio keyframe (changing volume of a group of keyframe)

Yeah, I work with the Smart Tool disabled and I've never had a problem with it going into segment mode. The only issue I do have is that if I want to select a keyframe or set of keyframes that are right up against a cut, then lassoing those keyframes puts me into trim mode for the cut rather than selecting the keyframes. I haven't figured out how to prevent that except to not lasso and just click to select instead

Try horizontally expanding the timeline at that point as much as is needed to achieve separation BEFORE you go to draw your lasso.

I have to say I feel Evan's pain here.  The problem with punching in to the timeline is if you have keyframes you want to add to the selection which are much further down the clip you have to drag the lasso to the edge of the screen and wait as the timeline scrolls slowly to the position you want.

    Really daft stuff this.

Re: Audio keyframe (changing volume of a group of keyframe)

Couldn't agree more!!! Avid offer lassoing as a solution to select key frames but this only really works in very limited circumstances on the timeline.

    AVID PLEASE SORT IT OUT!!!

I have asked my contacts at engineering and design to monitor this and the other related thread about these keyframe workflow changes to see for themselves that I'm not the only one concerned about the loss of marking to define a region, and no longer automatically ganging identical keyframes across multiple audio tracks together for simultaneous adjustment.

Doug and company, I sincerely hope you all are reading these responses.

The lassoing instructions are not working for me at all. I'm on a hard deadline. AVID you can't have us waste valuable time trying to figure these things out when you take away something that always worked for us.

Re: Audio keyframe (changing volume of a group of keyframe)

I'm very relieved to have found this thread and sincerely hope the old functionality is restored.  The larger issue for me is the inability to adjust one keyframe and have it affect keyframes on the other tracks I have selected.  See the below example.  Up until 6.5, keyframes on both A4 and A5 would move under these circumstances now only A4 moves.  I was able to lasso them together, but that added step could prove very tedious especially when you're making many adjustments to a given region.
