Is there a way to stop all my clips from trying to change layers when dragging them...

This is driving me NUTS on the more recent versions of MC - if I select say a long seq and try dragging it along the timeline a bit - no matter how straight and carefully I do it Avid always tries and moves everything up some layers - is there a way to either turn this functionality off or lock the layers as I drag?

This could be silly suggestion, but are your layer heights very short?  If so try making them taller.  Maybe just a couple.  This way when you drag, your "target area" is larger.  That is my method.

    Good luck,
