Renaming tracks in MC 8.8 slows interface reaction way down

does anybody else also experience that?

I have a timeline with 20 audio tracks - when I start renaming even only a few of the audio tracks, the timeline starts to react very slow to mouse commands, for example activating or the redirection of tracks becomes almost impossible. Maneuvering in the timeline is also very slow and sluggish...

Once I remove the last custom name the performance is back to normal.

    Any idea anyone?

    Hey,

This happened to me here as well (on Avid 8.7 with OS 10.10.5).  Are you by chance using ALL CAPS to rename your tracks?   Try renaming the tracks in lowercase letters.  It sounds impossible, but this was the fix for me.  A few tracks were ok with the all caps, but one or two, labeled in the wrong CASE and everything slowed to a crawl like you describe.

    Hope this helps.

    Dan
