    Avid FX and MC First

When Apple dumped Pro QT codecs for PC users, I could no longer access production footage from some of my legacy work.  I was forced to dump MC 7 and installed MC First in its place.  It's generally OK, though I have to transcode some output for some uses.

As an old standard MC user (v7), I have Avid FX installed.  FX has always been a great tool - have I totally lost functionality with FX now that I'm running First, or is there some way to access or import FX effects?

Re: Avid FX and MC First

Hi First is a demo, trial, lite, version of MC. and AVID FX is a old version of Borus red I think  I dont think you will get legasey functionality in First ... If you have AVID FX in a stand alone version you could do it there and re import it

Re: Avid FX and MC First

    Thanks.

Yep - it is indeed a lite version, tho it seems to be OK for most of what I need today.

Even with MC 7 removed, FX appears to be running fine as a stand-alone.  I guess I'll experiment with export/import and see how it goes.
