    multicam blues

    I own a couple adrenalines.

    V226, HP 8200, 3 gigs ram, 8 quad striped 143s

I’m a recent arrival from the land of Macintosh, please be gentle.

The main reason I came over to windows was for multicam.

    I do 52-78 4 camera shows a year.

I am having reliability issues with all of my shows.

Footage is 10m on some shows or 4m on others with no mixing of resolutions on the same show.

On programs between 30 and 90 minutes, I am having a good deal of trouble using the multicam function reliably. The main issue is the on playback.

I either see flash frames of some other camera at the head of an edit, or the wrong camera continuously in a particular edit. When the incorrect camera is displayed, stopping the play head causes the correct camera to appear. After stopping, usually the correct camera will play.

If I stop the play head and select another camera using the mouse, the previously selected camera plays until I stop again. After the first playing of the clip, my edit seems to hold.

Also, in multicam mode, no effects rendered or otherwise will play.

On the mac, in multcam mode, the 4 camera source monitor would only refresh when the play head stopped. But once an edit was made, there was no problem playing back.

All effects seemed to work as they did when not in Multicam mode.

    Is this normal?

Anyone out there doing 30 minute shows having less trouble with multicam?

    Are the “m” resolutions problematic?

    Really apriciate any wisdom.

    Thanks,

    Paul

Read your e-mail, what driver do you have now?

    what is the source media?

MCA 2.2.7 is now posted to the download center, it may help.

    Re: multicam blues

    My Driver is 6.7.2.2.

Media is all from DVCPRO50 loaded SDI to 10m or 4m.

    also have tried straight 10:1

My reseller’s installer, (smart guy), is researching some issues with later drivers. He installed 6.7.2.2 a couple months ago on two identical 8200s when I moved over from the Mac and purchased this new Adrenaline HD.

At the time he felt 6.7.2.2 was most reliable driver.

    Re: multicam blues

    Also tried 77.18 driver.

    No good.

This multicam is less than prefect with my Quadro fx 1400.

Anyone out there have an idea?

    Re: multicam blues

Just a thought, your media is DVC 50 which has a native raster of 720 x 480.  You've captured the clips at 10.1m and that resolution has a native raster of 720 x 486.  The flash frames may be a result of trying to play clips  shot at 480 line raster at a larger frame size.  under normal workflow a multicam sequence is your offline seuqnce.  to finish you'd decompose forthose clips in a group edit and rebatch

    Hi All,

These Multicam issues have all been resolved with MCA 251. Even trasistions work in MC mode.

    Thank you Ryan.
