Media Creation results in black clips

    Hello there,

I am working on a FHD project 24 fps. When importing several clips, the result is a black clip. It does this when importing 4096 * 2160 clips. But it did it also with a FHD clip, but when checking properties of this clip, it says 1920 * 1072 for some weard reason.

What is going on here? Any idea?

    Thanks,

    Rob

I did a search on this forum and on internet to find solutions, but didn't find anything.

That's why I ask here. Anybody with suggestions?

How are you ingesting the clips? Are you importing, or are you linking? What format are the clips in? If it's HEVC (h.265), you won't get any video. This format is currently not supported natively by MC (there is a paid 3rd party plug-in that can decode HEVC). IF the HD clip is using an unrecognized CODEC, it will also come in without video.

There are a couple of freeware apps that can tell you what format your media is using. These are GSpot and MediaInfo (I use MediaInfo myself). I suggest downloading either (or both; they both have functionality the other lacks) and see what you're using.

OK, it's a QuickTime profile. Make sure that you have the last version of Quicktime installed (you don't need to install the player). You can find the download here: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL837?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US. See if that helps.

No, this does not help Dave. I thought it wouldn't, because all other clips that DO import succesfully are also MOV files. All of them are shot with Panasonic GH5,
