    ERRORS: Assertion failed / non-contiguous append / Aplayer exception

    I've gotten this error a number of times on my current project.  Usually (or maybe always) after extending footage with trim tool.  Error persists after trimming is done.  Sometimes recutting in footage solves is, sometimes not.

    Today I quit and restarted Avid and it spent a full minute opening "project settings" and then once running I could open sequences but timeline was frozen – no ability to edit anything.  Quit again, trashed project settings, and now seems fine.   But it is annoying/disconcerting.

    Curious if errors can be deciphered.

    AVID MC 2018.9.0

    OS X 10.13.6 / iMac Pro / 2.3 Xeon W / Radeon Pro Vega 64

    below is the error dialog that popped up when I played.

    and in console about a million of these:

    Ring::appendAsserted - non-contiguous append: numEver: 68, index: 90

    and ended with this:

    Exception caught in APlayer::Play - Exception: FATAL_ERROR, msg:Assertion failed: FALSE, file:/Snapshots/relengmini4_1536832116/coresw/ame/src/Consumers/Devices/StreamingPlayConsumer.c, line:1489

    and then:
