Dash, am I understanding correct if I assume that you are going to use Liquid as a middleman between AE and Media Composer, if so, for what editing steps do you need Liquid.

As a sidenote, AE is able to render to codecs that Liquid can import but I guess that we need some Media Composer connection withín this forum.

Douglas I use for a long time QT MOV After Effect file and import to Avid Liquid. It takes long time to render in Avid Liquid. That's why I need MC 4 if fast render QT MOV file easly imported to Avid Liquid.

I have already bought MC 4. In near future I'll do all my editing system in MC 5. Now I have many projects in Avid to be done.

    Thank you for your help

For going from AE to Media Composer there is no need to go through an Avi file, Media Composer is Quicktime based, for SD, just render your work in AE to an Avid 1:1 codec, that rendered file will fast import into Media Composer.

For Hd rendering, you will choose a DNxHD codec and fast import in the same way

I think it is better to place this question in Avid Liquid Forum.

This is easy to do but there is the file limit for .avi inside MC.

You can't export an .avi within MC larger than 8'30'' minutes.

Re: How could I export QT Mov to DV-AVI like (Avid Liquid Fuse) inside MC 4

I use output in AE QT MOV. If I use AVI uncompressed it is very large size file the rest option not good quality. What I have problem QT MOV files in Avid Liquid it takes long time to render, I hate it. Is there way similar DV-AVI size & quality output inside MC and easly imported to Avid Liquid?

I used to do this for sending MC clips to Premiere with a Pro One.

Do you have the Pinnacle DV codec installed?

As we know Liquid hates QT mov.

By having the Pinnacle DV codec this process is easy and relativelly fast to export from MC an .avi.

If you don't have it, download it from Here.

Then it will be accessible from MC and Liquid.
