wow, the play length button made a huge difference. No lag at all when its on.

The help file said where the button was, and that the default length was 1 minute, but I didn't see where to change the length. Do you know where that is?

I don't believe there is. However, in older versions, we could change the playlength by going to the console window and typing (without the quotes) "playlength2" which would cue up one minute before and one minute after the position bar's current position. "Playlength0" restores the timeline to normal function.

I have always changed it in the console... I don't know any other way to do it.

Secondly, make sure you default it back to zero for timeline playout or screening or you will come back to see your playout stopped after a minute or two.

    cheers

    Re: Media Composer 5 lagging

Maybe it's not the same issue but if I pause, the still frame is one frame further. I can't hit the right frame, because the position bar always jumps one frame further. It happens to me with Mojo SDI and Matrox MXO2 Mini. I think it didn't happen in MC4. Is there any setting for that?

    Re: Media Composer 5 lagging

I started up MC 5 sans the Nitris DX and the lag was not there. Then restared with Nitris DX and lag was there but seemed to improve. Is there an issue with MC 5 and Nitris DX being worked out? Running 5.0.1 FYI.

    Kelly,

Try turning off "Use Fast Scrub" in your timeline settings.

Tried it. It does move faster though not smoothly because, well, it's not in fast scrub mode. Should not have to work without it. On the phone with tech support.
