  • Panasonic HDC-Z10000P Avid Workflow

We recently shot some 3D test footage from this Panasonic camera that was loaned to us a short time ago. I am struggling to figure out how to link/import/transcode this content into Media Composer 6.0. As a first step, I downloaded/Installed MetaFuse 2.5 and attempted to navigate and "scan"... • Re: stereoscopic (left/right) HD output in 10.6 ?

Rainer, yes you can feed L and R into outputs 1 and 2. You have to be in a stereoscopic sequence, which at this time is 1080i only. At the time you create the sequence, or in Sequence Preferences select "interleaved." This will feed discreet eyes to 1 and 2. However, if you're not in a... (read more)

  • Re: Avid promotes competitors?

We are considering purchasing a Quantel system for 3D finishing. I have a dual boot Symphony Classic/DS DNA I/O system, so what you are saying is all I would have to do is upgrade the DS system and I can finish Stereocopic 3D. Correct? Jim (read more)

  • Metafuze project size limit

Greetings, I scanned some folders with content that I need to bring in. There were many files so I saved the project in case it crashed (it took 9 hours to scan). Sure enough as I was selecting stereo groups it crashed but I had saved the project file. The machine has been "opening" that project... (read more)

  • Re: Stereoscopic Right Eye Mirrored?

Hi, Any progress on working with mirrored stereo material? The creative director wants to watch through all the 3D to pick his best shots for edit but i'm not sure what to do to make it work in MC. As a back up i'm currently capturing all the left and right eye into DS while we have the space... (read more)

  • More 3D questions!

I've spent quite a lot of time playing with the new Deko3D options and as a result also have a few more questions to ask... 1) How do I get powerclips to play when mapped to a 3d object? For testing I've used a cube that I've been mapping Deko layers to the sides of. This works, but when... (read more)

  • Deko3D aspect ratio

Hi guys, Another 3D related question (apologies in advance!). I'm having an issue getting 3D models to import into Deko with the correct aspect ratio. When I import into Deko the objects are appearing stretched horizontally - interestingly they look correct when I switch my SDI monitor to display... (read more)

  • Stereoscopic Workflow

Hi, I'm trying to figure out what the best way to go about planning for a stereoscopic 3D project might be. We are in the pre-production stage of a shoot for a six minute live action project and I am working on an Avid DS V10 with the 8400 workstation. I am in the fortunate position to be able to...
