• Re: New Mac Pros

I don't care how fast it is out of the gate. It's not upgradable and therefore the amazing hardware will become amazingly outdated pretty soon ... I am using an early 2009 Nehalem Mac Pro (which wasn't the fastest even at release date). Due to the upgradabilty it still serves me well (very well, actually).

  • Re: Matrox Mini, BM Intensity Pro, Avid 6.5.2, OS 10.8.2 - NO VIDEO, Problems

I am on OS X 10.8.3 (although MC is not officially supported) and am running MC 6.5.2.1 and Matrox Mini without issues. Matrox driver is "Matrox Utilities version 3.3" = 3.3.0.0067 - the driver supports 10.8.3. I use the Matrox Mini only for video output, though. So I can't comment on video capture ...

  • Re: BBC Noise Reduction - Color Shift

yes, of course I do render in 16bit mode when I use keys, blurs, CC... or any effect that may introduce banding/posterization when calulated only with 8bit precision. Anway - upgrading from Avid FX 6.2 to 6.3 did the trick! (for reference: the above applies to working in DNxHD)

  • Re: BBC Noise Reduction - Color Shift

Hi Kevin, there is no BCC installer anymore (at least not in the downloadable upgrade package of MC 6.5.2 in the Avid Store). There's only the AFX installer. I've just reinstalled it and the AFX box was checked. The effcets pane looks like this - the AFX effect is showing up but on the left side the BCC effects are missing (or maybe not missing

  • Re: BBC Noise Reduction - Color Shift

Thanks for your reply, Pat. Yes, the effect is applied to all 3 color chanels. In the meantime I've tested a simple luminance key... and BCC (or AvidFX) turns the whites yellow. I've also checked if it may have to do with studio swing vs. full swing levels or so... but no. So something is really going wrong here. You won't see the color

  • BBC Noise Reduction - Color Shift (solved)

Hi guys. applying Boris Noise Reduction (through AvidFX 6.2) results in a color shift towards blue. I'm on MC 6

  • Deactivate Software

Hi guys, I am having trouble with activation/deactivation of my MC software (version 5.5.1). I've installed MC on 2 drives (running two different OS X versions) on the same (!) computer. I've deactivated the software on the first drive to run it on the other drive ... and initially everything went fine. But after switching back and forth some
anyone tried AVCHD-imported images Avid-Resolve roundtrip? it doesn't work for me, and I have no idea how it "could" work since there isn't any reel name for Resolve to find the images (and TC isn't enough since they all start at 1:00:00:00)
Correct - MTS files do not contain
Any solutions for Windows users? I've been wishing for a Windows version of ClipWrap for a while now...
what about "5DtoRGB"? http://rarevision.com/5dtorgb/ The Windows Version can transcode to DNxHD... which should be great for a fast import into Avid MC. Batch conversion seems to be a bit tricky

  • Re: importing avchd from panasonic gh2 onto mc6

this one should do: https://eww.pass.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/support/desk/e/download.htm#avccamip It's a QT plugin that enables QT to playback the MTS files of your GH2. As a consequence Avid MC can link to your MTS files through AMA (the regular QT AMA plugin).
