An INTEL diy setup and any intel laptop can be rock solid stable very easily... not saying everyone should do it, but saying diy setups are less stable is mis-information. Intel + qualified windows (currently 1909) + any nvidia gpu (never tried anything else) works 100%. And stick it in whatever case you want (rackmount included). Your point about serious

I guess not everyone is a fan of always rendering like I am.

If you want to game get a gaming laptop. If you want to edit and finish for high end feature films and broadcast TV, then a dual Xeon will outperform any single

Certainly there has been renewed resergence in AMD processors, they have made significiant inroads into the High end supercomputer market, much new design has found its way into new workstation products Conversly Intel has had delayed new product issues recently

Pat said: "Why would I trade stability for a marginal performance increase? And for the most part the thing that slows down an NLE is the editor. Not the processes." 1) This is completely irrelivent. I've seen no idication that AMD gives a performance increase while editing in Media Composer. In fact it was super laggy when I used Ryzen

everyone is tired of this question. don't do it. search the forums. don't feel like elaborating. x299x is good bang for buck now. Or that new intel 10 core. or you could gamble with amd, and risk bad performance. some say its good, others dont.

If I control A to select all clips in bin, then right click, all the other clips are de-selected. work around is to not right click, and use clip in menu instead.
