  • frameflex needs one more axis of rotation

Somtimes I get video thats upside down, not sure why. But when I frameflex and rotate 180 degrees everything is mirrored/flopped/reversed It would be nice if frameflex had an axis of rotation to fix this little dilemma. And by frameflex I mean, when i right click the clip and modify source settings. Thank You :)

  • Re: Laptop Spec for 2nd Avid?

I feel like the need for avid qualifications are very exagerated. As long as you get something with Nvidia hopefully something like a 1060 or 1070 youll be fine. The more ram the better (64gb is my minimum these days but 32 is probably ok, get something expandable). And make sure the display is at least 1080. Asus makes some cool external usb 3 monitors

  • Re: QT files import with black video

I would try the latest media composer (they're always upgradeing ama), and ama plugins if that doesnt work. If not transcode with ffmpeg/another gui, or resolve.

  • Re: MC 2018.10 media export violation

Did you attempt to export ama? This will most likely solve your problem. Quicktime's latest version is from 2009.

  • Re: Need Help Avid is lagging like hell !!!WTF

    1) I hope you are not trying to edit AMA and xdcam codecs... 2) Do a speed test on your usb drive using blackmagic speed test. 3) If i were you I would start all over. AMA and check native resolution and native fps and transcode to dnxhr_lb. Or ama transcode to same fps and a lower resolution to dnxhr_lb (project resolution). 4) Stop using windows 7

"export media"... can you be a little bit more specific about this? There are probably 100 export settings (when including custom codecs) after clicking export. what are you exporting and what settings? If you're exporting to quicktime. I can say exporting with avid media processor or op1a MUCH better than exporting to quicktime.

And here is an export with a conservative overclock of 4.3ghz (stock cpu - not delidded). This is with a $40 120mm small liquid cooler. My cpu temps are OK (checking with core temp). This is a with an matx evga x299 board. I sometimes have it in a 2u rackmount with a low profile 1050 ti but this is with my 1080 ti. With the 2u case i have the radiator

I got the 7940x because of that Puget article. I am appreciative of their info, but I still wish I would have gotten the 18 core. I don't think they overclock at all. And a motherboard overclocks very simply with presets in the bios. So im pretty sure the 18 core can achieve almost the same clock speed as the 7940x. Often when I transcode, export

I bought a 7940x and while I love it, when my cores are all at 100% I do have flagship envy. I say go for the 7980xe or the refreshed model 9980xe. I love x299 and HEDT, can't believe I was in quad world before this.
