oh blackdog, you asked what was better about fcp.. i think you did at least... being able to zoom in and out of time line while playing and being able to use the mixer while playing timeline (without control surface). THIS ONE IS HUGE just being able to do a couple things while playing timeline is nice.

i think the gap could be closed a bit if avid released a mojo sdi dvi to hdmi adapter to output native dvcprohd, hdv, and dnxhd (whatever its called). I heard that this was impossible. wishful thinking i guess. just for fun i attached a picture of my setup above. thats my living room in my one bdr apt. :)

not going to advertise for other companies... really, i want to use avid. avid is a good company, at least for not censoring what we say on these boards. :) like i said, i will consider buying hardware higher than the mojo.. but adrenaline has been around a while and its still fw400. so im not going to invest in that yet. -c

i NEVER thought i would use final cut. i always had pride in using avid vs final cut. however i had to cut an hd project. my options were cut dvcpro hd with full screen playback on xpress pro. or buy a 1 thousand dollar card and have hd sdi outputs going to an hd client monitor (sony 46in lcd tv via hd component) and reference monitor (apple cinema

  • Re: Rackmount Mojo products

ive seen the mojo in a lot of professional enviornments. professional environments usually finish on other boxes other than media composers... no need for anything more than xpress pro/mojo to cut. Ive seen top commercials, music videos, features being cut on these systems... but then again im just talking about places in hollywood, santa monica, and

  • Re: looks fine in avid, once i encode to dvd i unwated frames/fields

well thats good to know. how about when one is parked on a frame. it always shows single field correct? unlike a ds where youll see the flicker on the 3-2 frames.

updating my reel. since there are no real handels when pulling from edited masters sometimes ill use the first frame of the cut or the last frame. i play my montage back in axp using mojo, and it looks great. then i encode to mpeg, and it pulls a frame from the shot before or after my cuts. is this because when i use the mojo im monitoring single field
