  • Re: Monitor out with VIDEO only

Yes, this is indee a way. This does not create any delay ? I'll keep using my TV Aux OUT to my speakers. I was looking for a software base solution. I'm pretty shure this is something we can do in Premiere with BM product... Can't see why we couldn't in MC.

  • Monitor out with VIDEO only

I use a Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Monitor to send a video signal to my monitor. Is there a way to only send the video and still have audio to come out from the iMac mini jack ? Thanks

  • Speech to text inside Avid

Hello, I’m a documentary film editor and I often work with hundreds of hours of interview footage. I wanted to hear suggestions/thought from people who used “transcript” of “speech to text” software that can get integrated to a workflow in Media Composer. PhraseFind seems promising but it only works the other way around

  • Re: iMac Pro - which GPU?

Thank you, Marianna, I've seen this page before but I can't see any mention of the iMac Pro on this page. For 4K/UHD, all it says is "32 GB recommended". And I can't see any mention of 64 GB being recommended for any configurations. Rainer Speidel, do you have a link ?

Oh great. Thanks for the heads up! Where did you see those specifications ? The only mention of the iMac Pro on avid website I can find is here but I don't see any mention of 64GB requirements for 4K... : http://resources.avid.com/supportfiles/attach/Mac_Current_CPU_Specifications.pdf

  • Re: iMac Pro - which GPU?

So bottom line, I you had to choose between a 16GIG GPU (knowing that it might be possible to add external GPU in the future) or 64GIG RAM (knowing that a certified apple technician could upgrade the RAM at a cost in the future), what would you choose for the base iMac Pro model ? Thank you,

I'm also thinking about buying the new iMac Pro base model. I have money for one upgrade and I'm not quite sure what would be the best move for Avid performance (but I also do a lot of After Effect): ⁃ upgrade from: 8 core @ 3,2GZ TO: 10 cores @ 3,0GHZ or ⁃ Upgrade from: Radeon Pro Vega 56 8 GO ram TO: Radeon Pro Vega 64 with 16GO Knowing I

From the AVID Blog: iMac Pro Support Avid Media Composer 2018.4 is now supported on Apple’s iMac Pro. Note that the iMac Pro will require the NEXIS 18.3 client. You can find a complete list of qualified Mac and Windows workstations, laptops, and Operating Systems in the ReadMe document . http://www.avidblogs.com/media-composer-2018-4/

  • Re: Upstream pipe stall on Transcode

Hello Marianna. Sorry, I've never seen your reply. A few months later and I'm still having the same issues. Both of my drives are Thunderbold 2- Raid 0. Could you share with me a link that explain how to turn the processor priority to low for MC and set the core affinity onto only one core. Thanks.

  • Re: iMac Pro

I would also like an ETA on an official Avid certification for the (not so) new iMac Pro.
