• Re: Avid Media Composer & DaVinci Resolve Round Trip Bug/Defect
The thought is this workflow isn't anything out of the norm and should be supported. So hopefully its labeled as a bug.
I completely agree. "
You might not see this error at all given the circumstances of your particular project.
One reason could be that

  • Re: Avid Media Composer & DaVinci Resolve Round Trip Bug/Defect

Where do you save the files to with your Avid Template Resolve deliver? I deliver to folder named 100 that I create in my Avid MediaFiles\MXF folder. Resolve creates all the media there along with the AAF file. MC automatically indexes the 100 folder. I drag the AAF file into a new bin named Resolve Projectnamedate . The bin immediately populates withe

  • Re: Relinking a Linked clip to a Sequence that had legacy-Imported Same File

The original Batch Capture and Batch Import were shinning examples of the brilliant minds behind media management and offline online workflows Avid were renown for. A great shame those designing AMA / Link did not understand this and design Linking to be at least as capable plus use meta data etc so the two input processes became seamlessly and reliably
MXF media created by the original legacy import is now offline.
Why not select all the offline MXF clips and batch reimport them. When MC does not find the original import file path you get the option to give select the path to the new folder. This always used to be a very reliable efficient workflow. Alayne

  • Re: trying to downlaod software for Euphonix MC Tranport

You may find an answer more quickly in the Avid Audio forum http://duc.avid.com/ a lot more folk over there use the Euphonics control systems. I had a, still, Euphonics branded Avid Color panel on a HP 8600 and Windows 7 but seem to remember having to log in to a my Eucon(?) account to access the software updates. The last time I updated that system

  • Re: Any value left in an Avid Dongle
or did I miss something?
You can keep you dongle as it is and carry on using it with the latest version of MC that your dongle is updated to. This has no cost to you for the life of the dongles perpetual licence which is probably 2060 or later. To find your dongle licence details plug it in and open the dongle
My old computer finally gave up the ghost last year and the dongle is sitting around doing nothing. Just wondering how I can make best use of them, as I do very little editing these days Graham
Spend a little for a second hand Windows 7 capable computer, or probably even less for an old Mac Pro with a Mac

  • Re: Source roll sequences

FWIW until Avid gets around to delivering on this long overdue request, here is the option I am using to give me an easy sequence based source clip proxie workflow for offline - online featured workflow. The initial part of the workflow can be used export the all clips at the designed deliver resolution. I find this is faster than MC linking, transcoding
  • Re: Symphony 6.5.5 install help
it is an old system all the way around, and is only use as back up.
You could make an a Mac alternate boot drive and install 10.7 on that. If your machine will then boot from the 10.7 drive then install only Symphony and your projects (or copies of the projects) on that drive. Your Avid projects media should

  • Re: Zooming into a dissolve ?

Another suggestion. Cut the original media where you want the transition to be completed. On the video layer above cut in the new media where you want the Transition to start. This overlap will be the dissolve duration. On the upper layer use a resize or speed warp fx for the transition effect and use an add edit to split the new media at the end of
