  • HD to SD

I've just finished a project in 1080/59.94 on my Adrenaline (no dnxcel board). The producer would like me to make him a letterbox SD copy on Beta. What is the best way to do this? I can open the hd sequence in an SD project, add a 16:9 letterbox effect and spit that out. Or I can transcode the sequence to SD. What is the difference? Why choose one

No I haven't seen it on a TV, but I'm thinking the same as you. I'm not sure what his tv is set up for. or if he has an upscaling dvd player, that may affect it? Whatever the problem, I'll just allow lots of room for the graphics. I haven't seen anything that tells me I did anything incorrect in making the dvd. Thanks for you help

Yes I did. But should I change anything in the grid settings or use the default 16:9 grid?

thanks Lew, therer's a lot of good stuff there, not just dvd. I've been using Avid DVD for a while, so I knew most of what was in the tutorial. He doesn't say what his source material was. Maybe I should have been more accurate in my original question. I've already done a dvd of the 1080i project. Did a widescreen dvd, looked great when

  • 1080i to DVD

I've just completed a project in 1080i/59.94 on an Adrenaline without a DNXcel board. One of the deliverables the client wants is DVD. How do I deal with this? Do I export the sequence in native format to AVID Dvd and make a widescreen dvd? Do I downconvert in Avid first and export the "squished" video to Avid DVD? Is there a workflow

Not that anyone knows or cares, but I got laid off a few weeks ago. Our company has had some "challenges" and saw fit to get out of the production business. So we, the vanquished, are taking over the business ourselves. I've worked out a good deal with my former manager to have full use of the Adrenaline suite and all the other resources

  • Adrenaline time code out

I've just installed version 3.0.5 on my old Adrenaline system, amazed at how well it's running. But I've lost the ability to feed tc from the Adrenaline to my Beta deck. I've gotten lazy, not having to prestripe my tapes, and I'd really like to get that feature back. Is there a setting I've forgotten about?

That's the one! I don't remember changing it to highest quality, but I just checked and sure enough. Thanks.
