  • Database Rebuilding

Dear Avid Community, For at least 5 years now, I've noticed that the old way of rebuilding the database files no longer works 99.9% of the time. Before you would go into the folder within Avid MediaFiles and just delete the 2 database files. Then when you relaunch the Avid application, it would automatically rebuild them. Can someone please explain

  • Re: Upgrading GPU

I've decided to go with the P2000. It's designed for the workstation and it gives me the boost I need to speed up my editing process/rendering without dropping over the $1000 pricepoint. Thanks for everyone's feedback and help.

The GTX 1070 is not worth it based on the current z workstation I own. Last year I tried with a 1080 and the power consumption became a serious issue. Plus Avid and Adobe After effects had problems seeing the CUDA cores to take advantage of the rendering capabilities... It was so much of a nightmare I just returned it. I just want to plug a new video

  • Upgrading GPU

Hey everyone, I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card from NVIDIA Quadro K2000 to a Quadro P2000 or a NVIDIA Quadro P4000. I looked up the spec sheet on the Z420 and said it can handle the Quadro 4000 and the K4000, but nothing about the P4000. My guess is because the card didn't exist when the spec sheet was created... so that's why it's

Ok, so I finally was able to get everything up and running... what a nightmare! It's really simple actually... once you know what's up. :) You have to add the video card to the following config files: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2015\Support Files raytracer_supported_cards Then go into the preferences and make sure the CUDA

So I downloaded the nvidia CUDA drivers and this is the message I got when I bagan the installation: "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware. You may continue installation, but you may not be a ble to run CUDA applications with this driver. This may occur with graphics hardware that is newer than this toolkit. In that

Ok, so my bios is up-to-date. Didn't solve the problem. I'm running Windows 7 Pro. Adobe AE says (under the GPU information [preview preference] Device 1 (GeForce GTX 1080)(unsupported). I did a comp test render and nothing has changed in terms of how fast it gets through the comp compared to my old video card. Same with Adobe Encoder... no
