  • Re: URGENT digitized clips won't play

I had massive issues with the Symphony Nitris. Asking it to render would return you to the desktop. After 4 hours of trying everything under the sun we reseated all the cards and cruched the ram. Hey presto, problem solved !! you can guess what our 1st actions will be on the next crash. TBD

  • Re: Quickie about HDV

Great help, we needed to get some HDV material in. Upgraded the Adrenaline and then followed this route, although it is a little time consuming it has all panned out. Is there a timetable for Native HDV support on Symphony Nitris? Thanks TBD

  • Re: Symphony Nitris 1.0.1 Released

I add my voice too, very impressed with the Symphony Nitris but lets stop the lies. Nitris not only had a scrolling timeline but you could resize it and navigate it whilst the sequence was playing without affecting timeline playback !! This is the same basic hardware.... Also intermediate results please.. TBD p.s. this isnt final cut pro, it is a professional

  • Re: 24p Workflow

Thanks, I will give it a go tomorrow. It seems a shame that there isnt a Total Conform workflow solution for this problem. Thanks TBD

  • Re: 24p Workflow

It was cut 24P PAL on a V5.1 Symphony Meridean. I have played with EDL manager but could get no success. Thanks TBD

  • 24p Workflow

I have come to HD Online a Film which was shot at 24FPS and then telecined at 25FPS to HDCAM 1080P. It was offlined on a symphony at 24P and now I want to On-line it at 1080P. I can find absolutely no way to do this. If I open a 1080P 24 project it will allow me to start the conform but stops when it discovers that the material on tape is 1080P 25.

  • Re: Batch Import (more than one at a time)

Just on a housekeeping issue. I always create a folder within the OMFI folder called Project XXX Imports and then copy all Jpegs,WAVS, MP3`s etc to this folder from CD/DVD prior to importing into AVID. This makes is easy to back up and when batch importing you only ever have to point to 1 folder. TBD
  • Re: Curious stuff on the OMF Folders

yes you can delete the + and - prefixed media as these are old corrupt media that Media Composer has found and put to 1 side. The creating folder and database files can all be deleted as they will be rebuild on next boot up. I also get ghost projects in media Tool, dont know the answer on this 1. TBD
  • Re: About Parhelia and upgrade to Xpro 5.x???

not specifically but I struggled on with my Parhelia until I blew it up then replaced it with 2 Nvidia cards which has transformed my Xpress Pro experience. http://www.avid.com/exchange/forums/13817 TBD

  • Re: MCA vs. DS Nitris

I disagree, I have NEVER had an eject button related incident on a PC but I once almost through a MAC out of a window because I was unable to find the short cut to open the CD Tray. It is entirely a design function, to look sexier!! Also no floppy drive which means that every single mac I have ever worked on ends up with a USB floppy unelegantly hanging
