  • Re: Beachballing when trimming or hitting play from Thunderbolt connected RAID media.

Hi siencs, Not sure if you have found a solution, but I have had exactly the same problem, and I have found something that helped me. I adjusted the Media Cache settings, increasing the Desired Video Memory from the default 2GB to 12GB (My machine has 24GB RAM) This seems to have eliminated the beachballing. Cheers, DRW

  • MC6 and Apple Pro Res

Hi All, I've been importing AppleProRes QTs camera footage into an Avid project and something strange happens. Sometimes when importing Avid will ask if I'd like to keep the original file resolution (AppleProRes422) and when I click yes it fast imports, which is great. Other times, with footage shot on the same camera, Avid will not import the

  • Pablo and MXF

Hi All, I'm currently editing a half hour show that is graphics heavy, and it's being sent out of house for 3D. Anybody out there having success imorting avid timelines via AAF and/or Avid MXF files into Quantel Pablo? Also having problems with Avid DNxHD QT with alpha which seem to get corrupted on import into Quantel. DNx QTs with no alpha

  • Re: QT Ref = very low audio?

Thanks guys, I will try your suggestions, however as I mentioned, I have been able to successfully export QT refs in the past with no issues. This seems to be a new problem. The workaround for the time being is to in fact export the audio mixdown as an associated .aif file which works but it obviously takes longer and uses more space. "which of

  • QT Ref = very low audio?

Hi all, I've been capturing and exporting Quicktimes via Quicktime reference, and compressing them for use on our website. This work flow has been working well, until yesterday. Suddenly the audio when playing back the Ref file is very very low, almost inaudible, but it is there. I am on 4.0.5 Media Composer Adrenaline, QT version 4.6.4. The project

  • Re: Shot list from a Sequence?

Success! Thanks Randy. I'd never used FilmScribe before, so after a little reading, I got it to generate a list to my liking. =DRW

  • Re: Shot list from a Sequence?

Yeah that works. Now at least, I have the clip names included on the edl. Now I just wish I could remove some of the other extraneous material, like the source tape in and out tc, and it would be perfect. But a good start. Thanks for the suggestion. =DRW

  • Shot list from a Sequence?

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows a fast way to create a shot list from an edited sequence. I am creating an 'archive' or 'melt reel' of footage from various sources, and would like to be able to include a shot list. Since all the clips have been clearly labelled, I was hoping it was possible to create a list (sort of like an edl

  • Re: Select Right= Crash?

No, no filler at the end of the sequence.

  • Re: Select Right= Crash?

Setting ins and outs doesn't seem to change anything, however I have noticed this same crashing behaviour when using segment tool to select several clips and then using the 'trim 1/10 frame' keys to slide them up the timeline. So it's not the Select Right tool, but seems to be an issue with the segment tool or a combo of the segment
