  • Re: Recommended Chairs for Editing

For an update, I was able to test an Aeron chair a week or so ago. My boss has one & went out of town for a week. My impressions is that, although it's a good chair, there were many reasons why I wouldn't want one. I found the Lumbar support piece to be bothersome and annoying. I moved it to the lowest position & it was still in my way. There

  • Recommended Chairs for Editing

I'm on the hunt for a new chair. I think the budget is probably around $750 or less, maybe higher depending on my boss's mood at the time. I'm looking for suggestions & recommendations, but with reasoning behind them, like "This chair is nice because you can adjust the armrests..." and not just "this chair's comfy." I've heard the Humanscale Liberty

  • Re: Freelance Trainer Recommendations

First, thanks for the replies, I was beginning to worry. But yes, we did check with FMC, but for what we need, they were going to be too expensive. We need custom, on-site training for both MCA & Avid DS HD. The DS HD we think we've got covered. But the MCA is a sticky situation because we are looking at training a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 4

  • Re: Adrenaline whats the point?

You're talking to someone who upgraded from a 7-year-old Mac, MC V 7.0 with a max resolution of AVR 77. It was only our offline edit bay while the new DS HD handled the finishing. Had theAdrenaline for almost a year now & it is another dimension to me. Seems a little less stable & more buggy, but with all the extra it's doing, I aint complaining

  • Freelance Trainer Recommendations

Does anybody know of any good freelance, Avid Certified trainers for the Media Composer Adrenaline? It would be for on-site trainning. Chicago-area based would be good, but they could be based anywhere (within continental US of course.)

  • Re: What to buy, where, & how much

What is Audition? I was originally thinking Pro-Tools because it's owned by Avid so I thought the integration would be easy & it's so versatile. Any Pro Tools users out there? P.S. Training & Trips are already on the wishlist. I think I'm getting 1 of 2. And any suggestions about FX plugins?

  • What to buy, where, & how much

Our bosses are letting us make a wish list of any hardware &/or software we would want for next year. I would really like to start using Pro-Tools. We do a lot of interviews where I could see myself using preset filters to take out AC noise or warehouse noise. But I don't know anything about Pro-Tools other than it is very popular & it's parent
