• Re: Hi. Is there a user guide???
I'm trying to find out how to exprt to DVD, pretty basic, but I can't find any thing in the knowledge base. Nothing specific to just exporting to DVD. Are there any user guides? And also, i have a perpetual license, don't have any support subscriptions, doe that mean I am limited to my access of the forums?

One more thing to consider. Freelance talent pool. What do they use and know WELL. There may be times you need extra help. That is one of the strengths of C4D. It is used by a lot of working pros. Blender is not as well accepted. Harder to find really good help. Amazing software though. But it is just different. Jef

  • Re: Sony XAVC pixelation when AMA linking

Interesting. Our colorists have been pulling their hair out dealing with FS7 AVC material. I am going to share this with them for comment, but I think that their tests with camera original loaded directly into Resolve still shows banding. And there is a bit of discussion on various camera and post forums about the issue. And this is material where no

  • Re: Best way to handle this interlacing issue?

Ok, a couple of comments. First, these are not intended as disparaging. I do not know your background. I don't know what gear you have. These are just my views based on 30 some years in this business. First - Video is complicated. Very complicated. The issues you are dealing with took me years to learn and understand how to handle. There are no

Learning any Animation program is a deep dive. I would suggest you hire an experienced artist whose work is what you need. Then buy the tools they require. People are more important than tools. Jef

  • Re: Visually indicate edit modes on client monitor
Mute the monitor is better I think. Customers trying to follow each steps of editing can be a drag. Imagine writting a poem and someone is looking above your shoulder! Not nice. Happily enough there is no one besides me in my edit room since years already, but I remmber that I send them regularly out to get coffee [

  • Re: What Avid Media Composer Should Have in 2018

That is basically my workflow but I use After Efects and make PNG files if static and one of several codecs if animated. Not that big a deal. But we really should not have to do it. Jef

If you are doing normal DVDs - NOT Bluray, you are negatively impacting the majority of your footage. Think about it. You are upconverting SD into HD (720p) and then downconverting back to SD for the DVD encode. These are not 0 sum steps. The upconvert is creating info that was never there. The downconvert is getting rid of info. [quote user="SR555"

  • Re: MC 8.10 SD project weirdness

I am not dismissing the issues you raise or what you need to do. All I will say is that as a development area, DVD really is dead. For any company to dump money there would be folly. All the tools you mentioned have been around for years and work well for what you did. Well, other than Liquid. Seems like you choose a solid path. But I do not like the

  • Re: Ghosting / frame blending issue on clips in Avid export
Thanks for your reply Pat! Would this mean that I would have to start the whole edit over again? In a new project with the correct framerate?
You can convert a sequence to a new frame rate. Right click on the sequence, go to modify / format. You would then need to make a project in the format you just modified
