  • Re: Consolidate or transcode XAVC Intra?

[quote user="Martin Fox"] I have a large project underway where I have consolidated the native codecs, mostly prorez, ,(project started in vers 8.5 I think) i have found the consolidated clips to be very unreliable. Often the project wakes up with some offline and I have to relink them. More recently I have had the same problem with P2 clips

  • Re: Shared bins and projects going forward

As I understand things you should be able to send and recieve a bin at the finder level and use them with no problem. The restriction is that you can not open a bin that another editor is using at the same time in a shared project / media environment. But if some one just gives you a copy of a project / bin and you open it locally, you should be good

  • Re: True P output from Nitris DX

What is your file deliverable? P or I? You should be editing in a sequence set to that format. If it is I, and you put P in it, Avid will put a Motion adapter on the P clips. In my experience, it should not look worse that viewing the footage in a P sequence. Try that and see how it works. Jef

  • Re: Media Composer Transfer modes/Layer blending

This is probably a waste of a message, but would it be realistic to do a Kickstarter to develop an AVX plugin for this? I imagine a price point of $20 (?) would generate a resonable return for a developer, given the monopoly currently enjoyed by Boris. Jef

  • Re: Making subclips from a sequence within AMC

One thing. A sub clip of a sequence - even if just one part of a single clip - will be a SubSequence. The icon will show a sequence Icon. If you really want true subclips, you could Mark In and Out in the sequence, and then Match Frame. Now your source window will have the underlying source clips with the Mark IN and Outs you placed in the sequence

  • Re: Waveforms at source

Agreed. ESC key on my keyboard. The lack of the this feature is something that really annoys me about Premiere. "What - you want to see source picture AND waveforms at the same time???" But they seem to keep picking off Avid features one at a time. Jef

  • Re: Missing "Fast Forward" and "Rewind" from Command Palatte

I do think they got renamed at some point. Not in front of machine. But look in the same catagory as before. They are there. Jef EDIT: Ok, this has been answered. Odd. When I first read this thread, only the first post was present ......

  • Re: Waveforms at source

I still am confused. I load a source clip into the source window. I switch the viewer from Record timeline to Source timeline (icon lower left of the time line screen). I see my audio waveforms (assuming they are enabled). I mark in and out based on the waveforms. I insert into my sequence. This seems to be exactly what you are looking for - other than

  • Re: Problem with black levels (frequency) of DNxHR HQX when exporting UHD timeline

Will take what Bruno said and add an example. We had a spot just fail our internal QC for a disclaimer having high freq. illegal levels. So I investigated. Spot was finished in After Effects. When the After Effect project was open and the disclaimer scene was viewed on external scopes via an AJA IO, everything was good. But the moment we made a file

  • Re: Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K output level is too low

Not using BM on my home system. AJA. Work, we use a mix. Sorry can't help with that now. As to why you Monitor might be clipping, try this. In Avid color corrector Curves, Master pull the blacks (lower left control). This should raise the black level with out touching the white. I would not be surprised if the pluge pulse shows up on the monior
