• Re: new pc

You can save some money looking at the official refurb sites for the big names - HP, Dell, etc. They will have good warranties. http://www.hp.com/sbso/buspurchase_refurbished.html Jef
In 1080i/59 and 1080p/23 with Data Track (SMPTE 436M) you can export a scc file. It works with edits in the Data Track. Timecode will be based on the sequence timecode. Have done this in MC8.6.5 and most 2018.x. Can you test this with the show you gave them? Don
Don, I was staring at that button and could not see
You should be able to just export an scc from the cutdown sequence. Don
I think that is only true if you are talking open captions (SubCap). I am not seeing anything like that for closed captions (Data Track). I would love to be wrong. Jef

  • Editing data track captions and exporting

I have a client who needs to cut down a show that we gave them which has captions as a data track. The needed delivery for this cutdown does not accept OP1A .mxf files with Data. Is there a way to export the cutdown data track (an AAF probably?) and convert it to a .scc file? This seems like it SHOULD be easy. Jef

In case this is the first time you are using this tool you need to click the "import image" box. This will let you navigate to the still you wish to use. Plus, this is for still images only. Jef

I can test this in a couple of hours. Thinking about it last night I thought a simple but maybe

I am coming in very late on this, and may be redundent, but one thing I see in your screen shot is that you convert to AIFF-C. I have read somewhere else that there are issues with AIFF files in some later versions of MC. I make AAF files with Wave format. I have made several in that last few days with no issues from 2018.11. Now, full disclosure, I

  • 2018.11 Frameflex issues

    1. You can not enter a decimal value from the keyboard in any field. 2. You can not nudge values with arrows in any field. 3. When you transcode a clip which has a FrameFlex effect and you check the Apply Source Transformation: FramFlex box, and ask to create a new sequence, the resulting clip should have no FrameFlex effect on it - it has been "burned

  • Re: Insert Edit Export - Real world reviews?
Most Post Hpuses and Broadcasters in the UK have gone the Cinextools route for doing file inserts into AS-11 files and ProRes exports. Its a subscription paid service but it works well. Avid doesn't offer that with AS-11 exports so the current MC implementation sees little use in the UK (and therfore little
