  • Re: Extending a clip in AvidFX

Thanks Pheral. That did the trick - I knew there had to be a way! I didn't have to do any copying of the FX in MC. All I did was enable the "Keep Keyframe Time", "Apply" and then stretch the clip in MC. When I went back to FX, the final keyframe was where it was and there was 5 more seconds of blank - exactly what I was after

Unfortunately it just stretched all the frames out over the extended time. My guess is that I have to do something in AvidFX itelf. I have look in Preferences and Project settings where it shows the length of the clip, but you can't change it there. I have also tried to drag a clip to the right so that it's end keyframe is further on the timeline

  • Extending a clip in AvidFX

Hi, I have just finished quite a complicated animated opening title clip in AvidFX and realised that I have not left any time to dwell on the final title, so I need to add three seconds onto the clip without disturbing the previous timings. The timing of the clip is quite comlicated with the "camera" following a row of "typeon" dots

  • Help with AvidFX 3D shatter

Hi, I'm trying to get an on-screen logo to shatter in front of an on-screen explosion. I am using the BCC 3d Image Shatter filter It is shattering but the particles are all staying within the area bounded by the original logo rather than going out across the screen. Do I have to build a full screen transparent version of the logo with Alpha or is

  • Re: Green Screen Problem

Now that bit about being free - that really interests me! A Friday afternoon seems like the perfect time to have a play with a new piece of software. BMD really are shaking things up. Thanks again for all the time and effort. Now to hunt down some tutorials!

  • Re: Green Screen Problem

Thanks Dave! Thats a better key than I had managed. I did try After Effects, but had the same issues there. As I said above I was worried that I had too bright a screen on previous shoots but there is nothing like learning the hard way. I did have a backlight, but it was very subtle - obviously too subtle in this case! Thanks again for your help! C

  • Re: Green Screen Problem

It was shot with a Sony Z5, but to improve the keying I took the HDMI output to a Blackmagic Design Hyperdeck Studio on DNxHD185 so I don't think I could have got much more out of it. In previous efforts I had a serrated edge on the picture and I though it might be related to the Green being too bright so I dropped it down a bit this time.

  • Re: Green Screen Problem

Hi Bruno, That tutorial is the one I have been using! My problem is that no matter how I set my settings, I can't get a clean matte - i have speckles on either the background or the forground. Because of that, my background is a darker, more boltchy versin of itself, and so I can't use a crop because the crop will show the actual background

  • Green Screen Problem

Hi, I am having issues trying to get a clean key from something that looks like it should key without a problem. I am using the BCC Chroma Key plugin from AvidFX 6.2.0.257 on a MC7.0.4. I have done a bit of green screen before, but no matter what I try I can't get a clean key. I also assumed that I could just crop out the shadow using a spline or
