  • DNxHD query

    When I go to transcode an HDV clip, my only trancode option is DNxHD-TR 145. I don't have the option of 220, 220x, Dvcam, or SD. Why don't I have the other options? I'm using Media Composer 2.8.

  • HDV workflow

    I've just embarked on an HDV project in which I want to capture everything in HDV1080/60i resolution. I had been using Media Composer 2.8 with firewire connected to the M10U with deck control, and the avid/deck have been very sensitive to TC breaks. Other editors have suggested to me that I should disable deck control and switch to the HVR-1500

    I got some sage advice about getting control of the deck, which has worked so far for me today. You need to restart the system with the deck unattached via firewire, and try going into settings>deck configuration and try creating a new configuration for the deck (with it unattched to the system). There I was able to create a new configuration with

    I'm having the same problem with my Media Composer & M10U (same error messages, unable to capture HDV, no problem capturing miniDv or DVCam). The only way that I've been able to capture the HDV into the box has been by disabling deck control and capturing on the fly. This is still a bit buggy, because sometimes it will capture a half hour
