• Re: What new features do you want in MC 6?
I just thought of another oldie but a goodie. I've always thought it would be nice to be able to resize some of the tool windows, like you can with the composer source and record windows.
Avid needs to go further than that. The entire nle needs to operate more on a windows based principal. Each section should
I'm with you though, I shoot everything on AVCHD at 50 Mbps and it take forever to import.
"AVCHD" doesn't go that high. "AVCHD" is a specific format with specific guidelines and a specific folder structure. People make the mistake of calling just about anything that contains

  • Re: Sony MVC 3D clips

No takers? I know the updated version of Vegas handles MVC. When I import a MVC (M2TS) file to the time line I get 8 tracks opening up. Six of them are the audio (5.1 surround), but I also get 2 video tracks... one is a 2D avc file and the other is the difference MVC file. It all works in Vegas but I'm wondering if there is a way to bring it into

  • Sony MVC 3D clips

These are clips from the new Sony TD10 3D cam. Can MC do this, and if so how would you go about importing this? Does it import directly or do I have to transcode? And if I have to transcode then how do I do that when the original M2TS file contains 2 video streams (a AVC track and a MVC track)?
Apple just because this time it positively reflects on Avid
I don't think that's true at all. In fact I would say quite the opposite. I think this is a dangerous time for Avid and Avid needs to think about this carefully. Pretty much all NLE's have had major code upgrades. Adobe with its new Mercury
Sorry to say, performance on the Market is often what drives management decisions, good and bad...
I'm not sure I would say "often" at all. The stock market IS the driving force. Avid has a distinct responsibilty to its stock holders. As a result, losses and boat anchors most surely will get completely

Look... bottom line... I think you're going to see quite a bit more of this "I'm going back to Avid" stuff in the near future.... a lot of the 'stuck in the old way' generation mostly. (In the long run I don't think it's going to mean too much... I think Apple is going to snag 3 or 4 for every one they lose on this
What has stock market performance got to do with the topic of this thread?
Are you kidding?? Avid just like Apple has stock holders and they also have a responsibility to those stock holders. This is a business and people are in the business to make money... not reputations or other such nonsense..... MONEY. In the

I'm reasonably sure Apple has sat down and looked at this whole thing VERY carefully, as it NORMALLY does. I'm sure Apple also recognizes that this extreme make-over will piss off and possibly lose a few old-timers here and there. Apple *MAY* also lose a bit of the "PRO" ambience that has surrounded FCP for so long. I think Apple has
